So what exactly is parking your domain? Parking your domain is an advertising practice used mainly by domain registrars and internet moguls to earn revenue from type-in traffic to an blank website. The url will resolve to a page containing nothing but google ads or links to affiliate programs. There is normally no useful information of any value to the web user who usually clicks on one of the links just to get away from the page. The domain owner is typically paid based on the number of clicks and the resulting benefit derived from these clicks.

Is it possible to make money from domain parking? Yes it is! Some webpreneurs have portfolios of thousands of such sites that make hundreds of thousands of dollars each month. Some of these portfolios of sites have been reportedly sold for millions of dollars to Venture Capital firms. One Canadian domainer has managed to sign an agreement with the government of Cameroon. Cameroon URLs end with a “.cm”. Many internet users mistakenly type in “.cm” instead of “.com” and all of the unregistered domain names resolve to a parked domain page containing paid links. This person is reported to make millions of dollars each year, his reward for helping the Cameroon government monetize this situation!

My personal experience with domain parking programs like Sedo and GoDaddy has been pretty lousy. I had several domains with Sedo for just over 24 months and I made roughly 1 cent per month! Not even enough to cover the expense of the URL registration fee each year. GoDaddy was even worse. They wanted me to pay between $3.50 and $9.99 per month in order to park your website with them. I had 1 site for several months but I was unable to make enough money to even reimburse the cost of this fee, even though it wasn’t a lot to begin with. I think that if you’re a bulk domainer with thousands of URLs, you might achieve substantionally more traction than I did. But I wouldn’t bet on it. Read more…

Before I write this post I research on the web what is the most “IN” style in creating a website that can take 3 to 4 weeks time. Some say if you are going to design a site that is plain and you are going to put only text and a little of pictures then it is wise to use some templates. Well, I may agree with it because as of today there are many companies working online that creates and sells templates in lowest prices. They offered different design and cope up with different categories like business, stores, music, movies or even a simple blog.

In my case, I used templates that is free because I am only doing blog so it doesn’t matter if the design is just a plain with a little background color. But if you are a company that needs to represent yourself in the world of web then you should consider buying the best template the will suit to your image.
